PRODUCT INFORMATION

Accurate, traceable standards are essential for regulatory compliance. If you don’t start with a precisely calibrated CRM, you cannot have confidence in your data.

The colour of water and wastewater is often evaluated to determine the level of contaminants present and acts as a general water quality indicator. For many years, the term “water-white” was considered a sufficient measurement of solvent colour. Several expressions for defining “water-white” have developed overtime making it clear that a more precise colour standard is needed.

This need has been met using a colourimetric scale method which measures the yellow hue in liquids in comparison to a qualified reference solution. Using UV/Vis spectroscopy, instead of a visual comparison, allows an analyst to determine present impurities more accurately and precisely which is required for near colourless samples. Therefore, it is essential that the quality of the reference materials used match the high-level performance of UV/Vis spectroscopy.

Using the precise starting materials (Potassium chloroplatinate / Cobalt chloride hexahydrate) required by the ASTM method combined with Inorganic Ventures instrument verification methods traceable to NIST, assures credible, repeatable and reliable results.

While different approaches exist in the market for formulating and certifying Pt-Co colour standards, the IV product starts with the right materials, follows the prescribed method, and backs it up with chemical expertise, integrity, and support. It’s how you can stay afloat as water testing methods evolve.

Other Benefits:

  • Ability to customise and prepare alternate concentrations
  • Can be diluted for calibration verification
  • Available in 500mL size
  • 100% guarantee of reliable, consistent quality
  • Packaged in our TCT which offers up to 5-year shelf life and eliminates concerns about shipping and storage

The cornerstone of the scientific community is accuracy. That’s why Inorganic Ventures has always been committed to producing the industry’s most exact Certified Reference Materials. But our control … and the control of every standard manufacturer … ends shortly after a standard is calibrated and packaged. We have improved the way we deliver our quality standards.

Transpiration Control Technology (TCT) extends the shelf life of a product and puts the customer in control.

When you order standards from Inorganic Ventures, your product will be delivered in the TCT bag. This means you will be in control of the expiration date. Upon receiving the product, do not open the TCT bag until you are ready to use. To find out how long the product can be in the TCT bag before it expires, simply check the lot expiration found on the bottom left of the front label. Your product will expire on that date or one year after opening the sealed TCT bag, whichever comes first.
